Twitter is requesting its users to change their passwords after a bug exposed them in plain text. There are over 330 million users are using Twitter worldwide. Twitter’s research team finalized a bug exposed in the plain text but there was no evidence that any breach or misuse of the unmasked passwords occurred. Meanwhile company requesting their valuable users to chnage thier password for the time being. And company forecasting a “abundance of caution” for using third party apps like Twitterrific and TweetDeck with the current password.
Twitter hasn’t confirmed with the user perspective now, as how many users’ passwords may have potentially been compromised or how long the bug was exposing passwords before it found and fixed the issue. But company still requesting users to change their password to avoid major issues in the mentioned area. So please go ahead change the password.
