Donald Trump was born on June 14, 1946. Donald John Trump is an American businessman, politician, television personality, author, and the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party for President of the United States in the 2016 election. Trump is the Chairman and President of The Trump Organisation, as well as the founder of the gaming and hotel enterprise Trump Entertainment Resorts. Here are few facts about Donald Trump.

  • His Father Was Fairly Wealthy as rich man. He owned apartment complexes in Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island. Donald worked for his dad for five years before he made it big in the real estate industry in 1974.

  • He Was More Liberal than His Father. His father was already involved in real estate and when he graduated from school, he worked at the Trump Organization. His big dreams pushed him to convince his father to take advantage of loans, so he was able to finance an expansion of their company’s holdings.

  • He Was Sent to Military Academy at 13. He was sent to the New York Military Academy because he was so full of energy. His parents thought sending him to military school would help channel all his energy into something good. He did very well in the academy and graduated in 1964.

  • He Is a Teetotaller. The Donald has never smoked cigarettes, drank alcohol or done drugs. His older brother, Fred, was an alcoholic for many years and warned Trump to avoid drinking. Fred ultimately died from his addiction. Donald doesn’t drink alcohol. He told Forbes in 2011 that he doesn’t drink, and it’s easy for him to avoid drinking. This is because his older brother, Fred, struggled with alcoholism. He died and it influenced him to stay away from any alcoholic beverage.

  • Donald is a fan of the World Wrestling Entertainment and is also a friend of the owner, Vince McMahon. Donald has been a staunch supporter of the organization. He also used to own the “Monday Night Raw” franchise. He was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 2013.

In 2007, Trump became the 2,327th star to receive the honour for his role as producer of NBC’s The Apprentice.   • Trump has been married three times, twice to women from Eastern Europe. His ex-wife of twenty four years, Ivana, is from Czechoslovakia and his current wife Melanie, who he married in 2005, is from Slovenia. His second wife was American actress Marla Maples. Their marriage lasted six years. He was currently married to Slovenian model Melania Knauss, but he’s also been married to an alternate on the 1968 Czech Olympic Ski Team and actor Marla Maples. Trump has always been his boisterous, aggressive self. His parents sent him to the New York Military Academy at age 13 because they wanted the energetic young man to learn discipline. He graduated in 1964 from the Academy and eventually earned a BS in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

  • Branding is huge for Donald Trump. Forbes magazine estimated the value of the Trump brand as being worth 200 million in 2011. Trump disputed this number saying it was ridiculous and claiming his brand was worth 3 billion.

  • Trump basically wears a uniform rather dressing in a different look that changes with the times. For years now it’s been a dark suit with a loud, usually single-colored tie that is about four inches too long. GQ has even implied that he might be compensating for something.

  • Trump used to be and perhaps still is good friends with Russell Simmons, co-founder of Def Jam Recordings. After Trump made his now infamous statement about temporarily barring travel from Muslim countries, Simmons came out in opposition to him and accused him of pandering.

    Since 1973, Trump has been involved in thirteen high profile lawsuits. He didn’t lose any of these suits but, despite his claim that he never settles any lawsuits, he’s settled several.
